Frequently asked questions
01.
How long have you been a photographer?
As a hobby, over 15 years.
As a profession, its been 11 years.
02.
What are some things to keep in mind when planning a shoot?
Ill start by saying I find it extremely important to stay true to your vision. Yes, its my job to stay true to my vision as well, but when we combine the two that’s what creates something unique. Pick a location that holds some meaning to you, or maybe a place you have always wanted to explore. Styling should make you feel like yourselves. I am more than happy to recommend location/outfit ideas of my own if you’re feeling stumped.
03.
What is your turn around time?
For weddings its typically 2-3 weeks (is subject to change if its during wedding season).
For family + partner sessions, its typically 1-2 weeks.
04.
How many photos are returned from a session?
It depends! - there are so many variables that go in to how many photos you receive from a session with me.
Weddings are dependent on the coverage you chose!
For families/partners the average is 70+
If you booked your wedding with me, your complimentary engagement session will average 50+
05.
Do you travel?
By plane, train (except not) and automobile….yup.
On average, I travel 1-2 times monthly for work.
If you are having a destination wedding, or just want to explore new terrain for your session, let me know and we can plan it out!
06.
Ive never felt natural in front of the camera. Im afraid I will look awkward.
Why do you think I take the photos instead of being in them? Ha, I kid (kinda).
Look, chances are you’re way less awkward than you think you are. So many people tell me this while i’m photographing them, even if I feel they appear natural and at ease. And if you in fact, are awkward, don’t sweat it. Ive spent 10 years crafting the perfect prompts to make you feel like yourself.
07.
What is your approach?
I believe that my lack of approach might be the best example of my approach. I really try to be hands off while i’m photographing clients. I guide and lead only when I feel its 100% necessary. I know that sounds scary, like what are you hiring me for? but I promise those candid moments are hidden in the nature of not posing. I always want my clients to feel like I am photographing them as they are, and not like I am asking them to be something they are not. During your time with me, you will most likely find yourself submerged in a bush, possibly hiking through dirt and fox tails, or maybe even standing in the middle of a street while cars honk at us to move. That sounds fun right? I know you’re saying yes.
Whatever you are hiring me for, I promise to make you feel comfortable in the beautiful skin you were given.
